More of You, Less of Me

You might have heard, "Knowledge is power!" There is truth in this. Learning more and gaining more knowledge means being one step wiser than before.

Gain more knowledge about History and we eventually become expert with Historic facts.

Gain more knowledge about Law and we eventually become expert with how Law and Justice works in the society.

Gain more knowledge about Jesus Christ through the Bible, and we are amazed and humbled at the same time!

John the Baptist was amazed and humbled when he met Jesus. (John 3:22-30)

After this Jesus and his disciples went into the Judean countryside, and he remained there with them and was baptizing. John also was baptizing at Aenon near Salim, because water was plentiful there, and people were coming and being baptized (for John had not yet been put in prison).

Now a discussion arose between some of John's disciples and a Jew over purification. And they came to John and said to him, "Rabbi, he who was with you across the Jordan, to whom you bore witness—look, he is baptizing, and all are going to him." John answered, "A person cannot receive even one thing unless it is given him from heaven. You yourselves bear me witness, that I said, 'I am not the Christ, but I have been sent before him.' The one who has the bride is the bridegroom. The friend of the bridegroom, who stands and hears him, rejoices greatly at the bridegroom's voice. Therefore this joy of mine is now complete. He must increase, but I must decrease."

John knew that though he gained so many followers, he was just the friend of the bridegroom, and the bridegroom is Jesus Christ.

John was sent to prepare the way for the Christ, and as soon as he met Jesus he humbled himself before the Christ. It is interesting that this humility John showed came from a heart completely amazed with and in knowing Jesus - Therefore this joy of mine is now complete. He [Jesus] must increase, but I must decrease. (verses 29b-30)

As we learn more about Jesus Christ of the Bible, we gain more knowledge about Him that leads to our joy being complete which should humble us more.

Human flesh craves for recognition from other people. We tend to put the spotlight to ourselves. And it is with this natural heart that we are to look to Jesus always, be amazed with His glory and power, and with all surrender we say,

"More of You [Jesus], and less of me."

And then we become transformed (Romans 12:2) to be more like Jesus as we meditate on His Word with a joyful humble heart - a heart completely surrendered to Christ.

"He must increase, but I must decrease." - John 3:30

Your Money, Your Heart, and The Treasure

"For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also." - Matthew 6:21

It is Pay Day again! Some are in that time of the year when Companies are reaping the harvest from last year's performance. Bonuses are given out to employees to let them share with the Company's success from all throughout last year.

It is that time that many are tested once again where truly his heart will be.

Whenever you receive your paycheck, what is the first thing that comes up to your mind?

Some may think of buying a new gadget or spending it on Fashion wear. Some may think of having a vacation somewhere far to get away momentarily from the noise of the city. Some may think of food and lots of food!

These may be legitimate needs for some, though some may object that these are just cravings.

But don't you feel that you have been forgetting something from the list above?

Who is the One who enables you to work so that you may earn such salary?
Who is that Person who strengthens you day in and day out so that you can earn a living?
Who made it possible for you to have that job in the first place?

Isn't that it is God, by the riches of His mercy and grace, who gave you that job, strengthens you day in and day out, and enables you to do your work?

Without God, you can do nothing.
And with God, you can do everything according to His will by His grace!

So why not give God back the glory by "bringing the full tithe into the storehouse (Church), that there may be food in God's house"?

Ask God to open your heart today so that you might see that Jesus Christ is the treasure that is far greater than the wealth this world can ever give you. Jesus offers forgiveness for those who repent from their sins and turn back to God. Jesus offers Himself as the Treasure your heart can ever have.

Seek Jesus Christ as you read His Word today, and may your offering be a pleasing sacrifice to Him as you make Christ your greatest Treasure.

Are You a Fragrant Flower?

"Just as a flower which seems beautiful and has color but no perfume, so are the fruitless words of the man who speaks them but does them not." ~ John Dewey

While walking at a park with my lovely girlfriend, we took the chance to take some photos using our phone cameras. It was just right after a downpour. These little red flowers caught our attention, and it was indeed beautiful!

But I felt something is missing. I never smelled its fragrance. It should have been a more delightful experience if it had a very pleasant aroma!

It is just as the same way as the words that we speak. We might be the best silver-tongued man, but if our actions do not back these words up, we are more like a man who after looking at himself on a mirror, immediately forgets what he looks like.

"For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man who looks intently at his natural face in a mirror. For he looks at himself and goes away and at once forgets what he was like." - James 1:23-24

The Word of God, is like a mirror that makes us see our true nature - sinful, wicked, wretched, hopeless, all because of sin. It shows us that we need help. On our own, we tend to ruin ourselves.

That is the reason why Jesus Christ became a baby - a human like us but still God at the same time, grew up, was crucified on the Cross - to die for us as the punishment for our sins, buried - to show that our sins were also buried with His body, and was risen again - to demonstrate that every one who believes in Jesus Christ and surrenders everything to Him has a new life already!

My friend, if you have surrendered your life to Christ already, you are a new person now. Jesus Christ is living in you now. Therefore, let us ask God that by His grace He would help us walk what we talk about.

"But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves... But the one who looks into the perfect law, the law of liberty, and perseveres, being no hearer who forgets but a doer who acts, he will be blessed in his doing." - James 1:22, 25

Be a fragrant flower today, my friend, and may others smell that fragrance and point them to Jesus Christ who is far more fragrant and delightful and pleasing - the One who made it possible for us to appreciate beauty in the first place!

Be Careful My Sturdy Heart

Rock carved by the waves
A rock so sturdy and so tough can be deformed even by a tiny persistent wave. Likewise, a good character can eventually be corrupted by giving in to little innocent-like temptations. Guard your heart, my friend, from these things.

The Focus, Fixing Your Eyes on Christ

One thing I have noticed, that when you focus your camera on to a tiny flower, the mighty mountains behind it become blur. In the same way, the Enemy wants us to focus on the problem to make it big. But God wants us to fix our eyes on Him because reality is, Jesus Christ is much bigger than any and all of our problems. Shift back your focus to Christ, my friend, and He would grant you the peace that passes all understanding.

In Highs, In Lows, Be Satisfied in Christ

After a 20-minute climb up the hill, I reached the peak and was awestruck by God's greatness through His creation, viewing them from the top - the sea, the sunset, the trees, the beach. But then, I realized I have to descend back to the shore - I cannot stay on top all the time. Life may bring you to your highs and lows, but always remember that a heart completely surrendered to Christ is a life completely satisfied by Christ. Be delighted in Him, in your highs and even in your lows.

Grace that Tamed a Raging Sea Like Me

The vast sea can be as violent as a devouring lion, but can be as peaceful as a grazing deer in a matter of hours. All is because of the wind which the human eye cannot see. In the same way, our heart as violent as the lion can be tamed only by God's grace through our faith in Jesus! Graze in His amazing love, my friend!

The Rainbow After the Rain

A rainbow cannot exhibit its beauty without a shower of rain. A butterfly cannot unfold its splendor without first struggling as a larva inside its cocoon. In the same way, faith in Christ is tested through many trials and hardships. Do not give up, my friend! Instead, lift it all up to Jesus Christ.

The Sky, My Heart, and the Hand that Holds Them Both

The same sky lightened by the sun will be the same sky brightened by the moon and the stars. Be encouraged that the same Hands who are holding the sun, the moon and the stars, are holding your heart. My friend, the same Mighty Creator who by His Word created and sustains everything, knows every detail of your heart - your joy and your pain. Cry out to Jesus, my friend. He listens.

The Bamboo Grows, So is Your Faith in Christ

A bamboo shoot has to grow its roots first before it grows its 30-foot stem. This is a lesson that we have to learn - we cannot climb the ladder of success without proper foundation. Build your life on Jesus Christ, He is the firm foundation!

The sun sets in the west, and then rises in the east after a number of hours. Just like the night that does not last forever, are your troubles and pain. Rise from your hardships as you fix your eyes on Jesus!

What Satisfies You?

“Remember that wherever your heart is, there you will find your treasure.” - Paulo Coelho

What satisfies you? What is your treasure? What is your greatest desire?

Will you really be happy when you attain these:

  • Money? (unending passive income)
  • Real Estate Properties? (luxurious house and lot)
  • Fame? (be a star in a movie)
  • Relationship? (the most beautiful/loving person in the world as your special someone)

Given the chance to experience each of the above, let's examine if it is indeed the endless source of joy in your life...

Money

It was once said that it's "money that makes the world go round!" You use money to buy your basic needs: food, clothes, a decent house; and even for the not-so-basic ones like pleasurable moments watching the movie. What if you revolve your world around money? Will it really satisfy you? How ironic that a great number of depression and suicide cases are from the wealthy!

Real Estate Properties

Wouldn't you be happy if you have your own house and lot? You do not need to rent. You are secured both from the heat of the sun and the coldness of the storm. Imagine you have several world-class mansions on a thousand-hectare land! You sleep on the softest bed, with the most comfortable pillows. But really, could this make you satisfied? How come there were times that even the softest bed and the most comfortable pillows could not grant you the precious sleep that you desire?

Fame

Just within 24 hours, you gained a 39.5-million tweet popularity. From a common television watcher, you became the star - the actor to be watched at. Several commercial and movie contracts line up at your doors! But, would the applause and admiration of the crowd really satisfy your heart? Sadly, a number of movie and theater personalities committed suicide. Amidst the wonderment and appreciation of their myriad fans, they still felt lonely.

Relationship

It really is a pleasure to have such loving wife! Your marriage is on a constant up-and-down, but you both still manage to make each other happy. Plus you have the most beautiful lady in your arms, it seems you are in heaven whenever you are with her, and you could not ask for anything more! Unfortunately, life turns in an unexpected event, you learned that she has a terminal cancer and she only have less than a year to live. Could you still say that you are satisfied and joyful?

Reality

My friend, most of the times, reality strikes in the most unexpected way. And the truth is that everything will soon pass away. Money could be lost in a one-day stay at the casino. Your house could be burned down instantly with a leak in the gas pipe. A simple act of scandal could ruin a reputation overnight. A one-night-stand causing an illicit affair could destroy a family.

It is interesting that the Bible, even if it was written thousands of years back, is still relevant to the modern age!

In John Chapter 4, there is this Samaritan woman who came to draw water from the well. Jesus asked for a drink. Then Jesus turned the conversation from the simple water from the well towards the "Living Water" that can really satisfy the longing of the heart.

Then Jesus asked the woman to bring her husband. Why do you think, of all He would ask, it was her husband? Because the deepest desire of that woman was to satisfy her heart with relationship. In fact, she already had five husbands, and the one she is with her now is not her husband!

Jesus Christ knows the deepest longing of the Samaritan woman's heart, and He knows yours too! Are you trying to fill in your heart with acquiring money, properties, fame, relationship, or any other things? Jesus said to the woman:

“Everyone who drinks of this water [the physical and temporary, things of this world] will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks of the water that I will give him [Jesus Christ Himself as the Living Water] will never be thirsty again. The water that I will give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life.” - John 4:13-15

Friend, only Jesus Christ can really satisfy your heart. Everything will soon pass away. Talk to Him today, surrender your life, and desire for Him. Treasure Jesus Christ in your heart, and find joy in Him.

"God is most glorified in you when you are most satisfied in him." - John Piper

Give Me My Chocolates

"Sometimes God removes things from our lives for our own protection." - Unknown

Do you still remember the time when you were young, and you really enjoyed munching on candies and chocolates? It was as if there was no tomorrow, and it would only take 2 minutes to consume one pack of M&Ms (hmm.. if you were well off), or Goya (if your budget was less than P10)!

And... what would mother usually say? "Hey! You stop that!"

During those times, I really could not understand why such a delightful thing be banned from my meals! But as I grew up, I realized that too much of this thing was not healthy at all, plus this might have caused the decay of most of my teeth!

As a young adult, I have lots of "chocolates" in my life that, little by little, God has been removing. Some of these, I might have understood already why were they being taken out; but some, at the moment I really could not comprehend yet.

But thinking about it, too much of anything really is not healthy at all. And even if we are taking it in moderation, some things really are not meant to be in our system.

How about in your life, is there any "unhealthy" thing that has already crept into your system? Is there a sin in your life that keeps on clinging onto your shoulders? Is there something that God wants you to surrender? My friend, if Jesus Christ has been your Savior and your Lord, the Bible says:

"It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery." - Galatians 5:1

You are already free by the grace of God! Through faith then, surrender everything unto Jesus' feet - including these "chocolates" that you love the most.

New Year New Perspective

"Write it on your heart that every day is the best day in the year." -Ralph Waldo Emerson

Every new year comes with it new sets of challenges and blessings. If we could treat every day as the best day, and with proper preparations we could face this upcoming year with a heart filled with the joy of anticipating great and wondrous things!

It is a matter of perspective, my friend. I hope that the changing of the year would help you alter your view in dealing with each and every moment of your life.

3 Pragmatic Steps to Prepare for the New Year

“Learn from the past, set vivid, detailed goals for the future, and live in the only moment of time over which you have any control: now.” –Denis Waitley

It is almost only a few hours remaining before the clock hits 12:00 AM on the first day of year 2014. Everyone must be so busy preparing for the celebration of the New Year! Reunions and family get-togethers are rampant here and there. Shopping malls are always crowded, and even the streets are so filled up that traffic jam is almost at its peak (you really need to bring a lot of patience with you). It seems everyone has that unexplainable joy and inexplicable bloom on their faces, getting ready to confront the upcoming year.

Then, how should we face the New Year? Do we have to gear up on something to better place ourselves in a position where success is inevitable? Here are some practical steps to make ourselves ready for 2014.

3 Pragmatic Steps to Prepare for the New Year

1. The Past is always a great teacher. Learn from it.

I have learned that success is more of a subjective thing or event. Some may define success as “the bringing of the desired results into a reality.” Some may describe it as “the accumulation of wealth, respect, and fame.” But I think the best definition for success is:

Success is “an event that accomplishes its intended purpose”.

One thing I have learned from my past, even the painful circumstances and heartbreaking moments can be considered a success if you have learned the lesson that comes with it. These lessons will make us stronger and wiser, and eventually will help us become a valuable channel of blessings to others who might be undergoing the same situation we had in the past. A story about a boy and a butterfly can teach us this kind of lesson.

“A little boy was playing outdoors and found a tiny caterpillar. He took it home and asked his mother if he could keep it and take good care of it, and his mother agreed.

The little boy put the caterpillar in a large jar together with healthy leaves and little sticks. He observed the caterpillar, feeding it with fresh new leaves, each day.

One day, the caterpillar climbed up a stick and started acting strangely. The boy asked his mother about the strange event. His mother explained to him that the caterpillar was creating a cocoon, and how it was going to go through a metamorphosis and become a butterfly.

The little boy, excited after hearing the news, watched the caterpillar every day, waiting for that time when the butterfly would come out. Then one day, a small hole appeared in the cocoon and the butterfly started to struggle to emerge.

At first, the boy was excited but soon became worried. The butterfly was struggling so hard just to get out! It seems to the boy that it looked so desperate and was making no progress.

The boy was so concerned that he decided to help. He quickly got a pair of scissors, and clipped the cocoon to make the hole bigger. The butterfly quickly came forth.

Bewildered, the boy noticed that the butterfly had a swollen body and weak shrank wings. He continued to look on the butterfly expecting that at any instant, the wings would dry out and expand to support the swollen body. But it never happened. The butterfly had never been able to fly.

Later, the boy had known that the butterfly was supposed to struggle. The butterfly’s struggle to push its way through the tiny opening of the cocoon pushes the fluid out of its body and into its wings, making them stronger.”

2. Failure to plan means you’re planning to fail.

Setting goals is a vital part of the planning stage. Without any goal, you would wander all throughout the year and you would wonder why you failed. I remember the movie “Alice in Wonderland”. The moment when Alice inquired the Cheshire Cat about some directions. The Cat then replied with a question of where would Alice want to go, but Alice answered back that she does not care much where as long as she gets “somewhere”. Then the Cheshire Cat said this to her:

"If you don't know where you're going, any road will get you there."

In creating a goal, you must realize what you would want to accomplish this coming year 2014. What are the areas of your weaknesses that you would want to convert into your strengths? What are the aspects that you would want to enhance more? Then set your goal. Create a deadline for each goal. Schedule an “Evaluation Date” after the deadline for each goal. Log these all in a journal to properly guide you on your journey of accomplishing your goals.

3. Enjoy every moment.

Each day has its own sets of blessings and challenges. The past can be a great teacher if you would learn from its lessons, but it can be a terrible warden if you would dwell on it too much. The future can give you a bright hope if you would envision yourself to be a better person, but it can cause you a dreadful despair if you would anxiously worry too much about it.

A verse in the Bible says a lot on this, and just like what I have shared on my previous post about prioritizing what is more important, Do You Love Coffee?, Matthew 6:25-34 says:

“Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life? And why are you anxious about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin, yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is alive and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? Therefore do not be anxious, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the Gentiles seek after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all. But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.”

With the delight of every moment of every day, always remember that each day is indeed a blessing from God. Just like the birds of the air and the flowers of the field who do not worry at all, but the Lord provides for them, you are even much more valuable that God knows of your each and every need. If God can provide for your needs, then all you have to do is to seek Him with all of your heart.

Learn to have a balance of everything: the past and its lessons, the future and its hope, and the present and its blessings; and I assure you that you will be a better version of you this coming New Year 2014! It is a matter of perspective.

Learning To Learn Again

"If we're growing, we're always going to be out of our comfort zone.” - John Maxwell

Evidently, we tend to stay in our comfort zones as much as we can, doing the same things from yesterday over and over again. Sadly, we even unconsciously fight back against any intruder that might endanger our comfort, even to the point that we do not want to learn new things anymore.

I guess you might agree with me that life has so much to be frustrated at:
  • "Why did I take an engineering course in college when I hope to be a medical doctor someday?",
  • "Why have not I taken the chance to court that girl, when my heart shouts out that I really like her?",
  • "Why didn't I try to learn a  programming language while in college, when I enjoy solving logical problems?",
  • "Why haven't I tried to open up my life, before when I had the chance, for that someone that might be a suitable complement for my personality?"
  • "Why do I try to do the same things over and over again, when I know that these things will not help me grow?"

Looking back at your past, these frustrations might be a major setback - like a giant anchor mistakenly dropped, when you still need to sail on; or like a heavy iron prison ball chained on your foot, you want to run wild and free, but it seems you just can't. You might have your own reasons why you chose to do one thing over another. It might be due to your financial situation, priorities, or even due to some confidential reasons; Or, you might not want to get out of your comfort zone, so you chose the "easier" path.

Now, one thing is sure, like the waters of the river, "You cannot step twice into the same river; for other waters are continually flowing in." (Heraclitus, Fragment 41; Quoted by Plato in Cratylus 402a) That decision is now a thing of the past. If you want to grow, you need to learn from your past, and you need to learn to set your eyes on what lies ahead - you might need to pull back your anchor to sail on, and you might need to remove the shackles on your feet.

Even Paul, an apostle of Jesus, said:

"Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus." (Philippians 3:13-14)

The truth is, even God is concerned with your "personal concerns". His delight is to see you delighting in Him, because only He can satisfy the desires of your heart. This world will someday fade away, along with its temporary pleasures - money, fame, career, sexual relationships. In fact, "the heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it?" (Jeremiah 17:9) The heart tries to fill in everything it could fit in, when only by surrendering this heart to Jesus would truly satisfy its desires. Jesus understands everything you've gone through, and everything you are going through. Learn to trust in Jesus with your heart, along with your past! Is there anything better than having somebody truly understand you?

As John Piper would say:

"God is most glorified in us when we are most satisfied in Him."

I've Learned...

I've learned... that when you're in love it shows.
I've learned... that just one person saying to me, "You've made my day!" makes my day.
I've learned... that having a child fall asleep in your arms is one of the most peacefulfeelings in the world.
I've learned...that being kind is more important than being right.
I've learned...that you should never say no to a gift from a child.
I've learned...that I can always pray for someone when I don't have the strength to helphim in some other way.
I've learned...that no matter how serious your life requires you to be, everyone needs afriend to act goofy with.
I've learned...that sometimes all a person needs is a hand to hold and a heart tounderstand.
I've learned...that simple walks with my father around the block on summer nightswhen I was a child did wonders for me as an adult.
I've learned...that life is like a roll of toilet paper. the closer it gets to the end, the fasterit goes.
I've learned...that we should be glad God doesn't give us everything we ask for.
I've learned...that money doesn't buy class.
I've learned...that it's those small daily happenings that make life so spectacular.
I've learned...that under everyone's hard shell is someone who wants to be appreciatedand loved.
I've learned...that the Lord didn't do it all in one day. What makes me think I can?
I've learned...that to ignore the facts does not change the facts.
I've learned...that when you plan to get even with someone, you are only letting thatperson continue to hurt you.
I've learned... never to humiliate another person. Always give him a way to back down or out of something and still save face.
I've learned... that if you're still talking about yesterday, you haven't done much today.
I've learned...that the easiest way for me to grow as a person is to surround myself withpeople smarter than I am.
I've learned...that everyone you meet deserves to be greeted with a smile.
I've learned...that no one is perfect until you fall in love with her.
I've learned...that life is tough, but I am tougher.
I've learned...that opportunities are never lost; someone will take the ones you miss.
I've learned...that when you harbor bitterness, happiness will dock elsewhere.
I've learned...that one should keep his words both soft and tender, because tomorrow hemay have to eat them.
I've learned...that a smile is an inexpensive way to improve your looks.
I've learned...that I can't choose how I feel, but I can choose what I do about it.
I've learned...that everyone wants to live on top of the mountain, but all the happinessand growth occurs while you're climbing it.
I've learned...that it is best to give advice in only two circumstances: when it isrequested and when it is a life-threatening situation.
I've learned...that love, not time, heals all wounds.

The Attitude of Gratitude

“If you concentrate on finding whatever is good in every situation, you will discover that your life will suddenly be filled with gratitude, a feeling that nurtures the soul.“ – Rabbi Harold Kushner
Since the start of 2010, I could say that me and my family were bashed by life’s hardships and trials. I remember the passion of posting inspirational articles being gradually eroded by such tremendous storms of life.

But as I once again retrospect, there was one attitude I have forgotten to exercise, which could save my ever-burning passion…

• Though my dad was stabbed twice in the stomach last January 2010, the fact is, he is still alive and well; and actually, while I’m composing this blog, he is busy doing some woodwork stuffs (and it is just less than a year!).

• Though we have soaring financial debts, by God’s grace, we were back on track paying those bills in a regular basis.

• Though my parents were in the verge of separation due to having different opinions on many things, indeed by God’s grace, they are now as sweet as honey with each other.

• Though I could not travel abroad for now for vacation, I have spent some vacation in Cebu and Bohol last February 2010, and in Palawan last November 2010. (and perhaps my next goal is to bring my whole family to one of those places next time)

• Though I see myself many times as a wretched and hopeless man, God would still show Himself as a mighty yet loving God!

• Though we don’t have the great riches of this world, we have the riches of God’s mercy and grace.

• Though I am such a useless and despicable creature, God grants me forgiveness and grace through Jesus! He helps me in my struggles, and strengthens me up in every step of the way.

Have you guessed what attitude I forgot to practice?

Hmm.. well, I think you guessed it right!

…The Attitude of Gratitude!
Who among you does not have any problems at all?
Who among you has not encountered any hardships in life?
Who among you has not experienced pain?
Who among you has not lost a loved one?
Who among you has not hurt someone or perhaps been hurt by someone?

I think no one is exempted of all or some of the above situations!

But one thing can be common: of all those problems, hardships, pain, losing, and hurt, there are always things you can be thankful to God for!!!

Do you still have your job?
Thank God for that!

Do you still have your health and physical strength?
Thank God for that!

Are your family still complete and living happily?
Thank God for that!

Do you still have a roof to live in?
Thank God for that!

Do you have trusted and good friends around you, ever supporting you along the way?
Thank God for that!

As Psalm 136:1-9, 26 says:

Oh, give thanks to the LORD, for He is good!
For His mercy endures forever.

Oh, give thanks to the God of gods!
For His mercy endures forever.

Oh, give thanks to the Lord of lords!
For His mercy endures forever:

To Him who alone does great wonders,
For His mercy endures forever;

To Him who by wisdom made the heavens,
For His mercy endures forever;

To Him who laid out the earth above the waters,
For His mercy endures forever;

To Him who made great lights,
For His mercy endures forever—

The sun to rule by day,
For His mercy endures forever;

The moon and stars to rule by night,
For His mercy endures forever.

Oh, give thanks to the God of heaven!
For His mercy endures forever.
The psalmist even thanked God for His awesome works on His creation!

Indeed, God’s mercy endures forever!

May we excel acquiring the attitude of gratitude!
