Ignite 365: 1 of 365

Psalms and Wisdom Literature: Ecclesiastes 3:1-8

There is a time for everything. In the same way, everything happens in its season. This shows that God is sovereign above all and knows the perfect time for each and every thing that happens to us and around us.

Pentateuch and History of Israel: Genesis 1

This describes how the world was created. It clearly shows how great God is, that from nothing He created the world. It is evident from the first day until the sixth day. It can be noticed as well that in each day of the creation, God was pleased and said that everything he made was good.

Day 1: God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night.

Day 2: God called the expanse Heaven, and called the dry land Earth.

Day 3: The earth brought forth vegetation, plants yielding seed according to their own kinds, and trees bearing fruit in which is their seed, each according to its kind.

Day 4: God made the two great lights—the greater light to rule the day and the lesser light to rule the night—and the stars.

Day 5: God created the great sea creatures and every living creature that moves, with which the waters swarm, according to their kinds, and every winged bird according to its kind.

Day 6: God made the beasts of the earth according to their kinds and the livestock according to their kinds, and everything that creeps on the ground according to its kind. Also, it is on this day that God created man in his own image - male and female he created them.

Chronicles and Prophets: 1 Chronicles 1

These are lists of the generations from Adam to Abraham, and from Abraham to Jacob.

Gospels and Epistles: Luke 1:1–25

Luke narrated here how John the Baptist will be born. He described how Zechariah did not believe at first when the angel Gabriel announced this to him causing him to be mute until the time that it took place. Eventually, Elizabeth conceived.
